Many things are happening right now, pandemic, wars, and crises in every way.
Because of these, everyone knows that gasoline will only get higher, right?
As gasoline gets higher, it’s just a matter of time that it takes other essential things in our grocery list along with it.
So, it’s wise to know how to save in every possible way.
I was able to do this one simple step during a pandemic that cut my grocery expenses in half, and it’s really effective.
And what’s that single step?
I shop online using grocery mobile APPS available in my locality.
These are the reasons why it can save you money:
1. Out of sight, out of mind
It removes the emotions that would lead to impulsive buying.
Because I can’t see other things in the grocery aisles that I don’t need, I only put in my online cart what I really need.
If you do your groceries together, like my husband and me.
Then this is more beneficial because it takes out the emotional buying x 2.
2. I can compare the prices of the item of different brands more easily. I can choose the one that fits my budget better.
3. More time to do productive work.
I have more time to do other more productive things, like taking care of my kids, cooking a healthy meal or doing work.
For example, instead of spending half of the day doing groceries, that means half of the day wasted on minute tasks that I can delegate to someone else, I can use the time to more productive work. More productivity can increase my income too.
4. Save on gas and parking fee.
I can save more on gas and parking fee because there is no need to drive. But there are delivery charges. Yes, there is, but there are also free deliveries when you reach a certain amount. Just find the best grocery APP in your area with great discounts and freebies when you shop online.
5. More discounts and freebies
There are more discounts and freebies when shopping online because you can actually see all the promos in the APP.
6. Knowing the total of your cart as you put in your grocery
You can see how much you are putting in your cart in real-time, so you don’t need to worry you might overspend.
I can’t see this in real shopping, and sometimes you can go over your budget, and you’ll just know it only at the counter.
Doing this one simple step cuts down our groceries to as much as 50% each time we buy compared to going to the store on my own, and it also helps us buy only what we need.
Well, that’s it. I may have started shopping our groceries online during the pandemic, but I don’t see that I will stop doing this now that it’s allowed to go out.
Try it.
For our Financial Freedom,
PS: For those who want to know what APP do I use. I use the ALL DAY APP because I see more variations in the groceries, and they will communicate to you if what you got is out-of-stock, and they will give you replacement options too. I can also use my rewards cards to gain points and discounts. They offer free deliveries too.
Not a paid blog. 😊
