Do you have a dream?
The kind of dream that you are believing in something that you want to accomplish and deep down inside you, you know, that it is part of your destiny or purpose in life?
Yes?
Then, hold on to that dream. Life has a way of pushing our dreams down.
That dream may have become buried under discouragement, buried under past mistakes, buried under low self-esteem.
It is easy to settle under mediocrity even though we have all these potential buried on the inside. But just because you gave up doesn’t mean God gave up.
Let me tell you a little secret. Those dreams that you have. Those dreams planted inside your hearts did not really came from you. God planted those dreams in your heart because it is part of the mission why He placed you here in this world. They call it, the secret petition of our heart or your life’s mission and purpose. Those are your dreams that you may haven’t told anybody about, but it’s there.
Let me share to you one of my favorite bible verse:
For God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable. – Romans 11:29
Even if you may have given up to those dreams, God is not giving up.
He hasn’t changed his mind. Don’t let circumstances take you out of it. You may not understand why a business didn’t make it, why a person walked away, why you came down with an illness or why the wrong thing happened. It is all part of the process. Every disappointment, every delay, every closed door, it is not just a setback, it is a set-up for God to get you where you are supposed to be.
It may take a long time, it may look impossible, but all it takes is one touch of God’s favor.
Take that responsibility to make your dreams come true.
Let me help you how to start.
These are the 4 GROW steps on how to make your dreams real, each step is guided by questions. If you want your dreams to come true, allow yourself to follow these steps:
G- GOAL
Define your dream. This is your Point B.
These are the questions you need to ask yourself:
What dreams you want to achieve?
What is the perfect outcome?
What would be the benefits if you accomplish that dream?
What do you really want?
What will reaching your dream give you?
Without a clear goal about your dream, it will remain a dream, if it is not concrete. Be specific, describe it as if it already happened.
R-REALITY
This is your point A, your reality right now.
These are the questions you need to ask yourself:
Where are you right now?
What obstacles do you see?
On a scale of 1 – 10, where are you now in relation to that dream?
What skills/resources/knowledge do you have right now that can help you achieve your dreams?
Note:
The reason for starting with GOAL instead of REALITY, is because we want you to dream big. We want you to go for your biggest dream. If we start with REALITY, before you think of your DREAM, you will be limited by what your reality is right now.
O – OPTIONS
These are the questions you need to ask yourself:
What can you do to change the situation?
What possible actions you can see?
If anything is possible, what can you do?
What would happen if you do nothing?
What have you not tried?
What other approaches can bring you success?
What else can you do?
Identify and evaluate different action strategies. Look at your dream, then list down all the possible OPTIONS you may have in order to get it.
In this step, it’s important to just list everything. Don’t rationalize everything you put on the list. Put in outrageous or crazy options if you like.
W – WAY FORWARD
The very next step is to take inspired action.
These are the questions you need to ask yourself:
Which of the options you listed down could be most successful for you to get to your desired goals.
What support you may need?
When precisely are you going to start and finish each action step?
How are you going to make sure you do it?
How do you monitor your progress?
Who would you consult to execute this?
How will you communicate this plan?
What would arise to hinder your next steps?
And the most important question is: Will you do it?
There it goes. If you follow the steps and answer all those questions, then you will see that your dream is not an impossible dream.
Remember this, you are not lacking, you got all inside you to make this dream a reality.
When God brings life into you, He is putting inside of you everything you need to accomplish your dream (your mission). People can stop you, give you bad breaks or disappointment. But remember, if you are doing what you are supposed to be doing, God is on your side. You have royal blood flowing to your veins, because you are a child of the most high God, there are seeds of greatness in you right now.
Believe it.
Now, remember your dream again. Close your eyes, envision this, imagine yourself that you just accomplished it right now. How does it feel? Good, right?
It made you smile and gave you a new surge of hope.
Now, what’s next?
It’s up to you. What are you going to do?
