I can almost remember when I took my medical board exams some few years ago. The palpitations, the sleepless nights, the cramming and the feeling hopeful.
My least favourite part in the exams? The waiting for the results to come out. For me, the waiting took forever. But the best part of it? The passing.
The recent medical board exams took place August 15-16 and 22-23, 2015 simultaneously in 3 locations in the country namely:
Manila (University of the East) in C.M. Recto,
Manila, Cebu (Southwestern University) in Urgello St. Cebu City) and finally
Davao (Davao Medical School Foundation) in Bajada, Davao City.
Today, the results came out.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 2,491 out of 2,921 passed the Physician Licensure Examination given by the Board of Medicine in the cities of Manila, Cebu and Davao this August 2015.
I would like to sincerely congratulate my new colleagues in the medical field. Congratulations! After all the sleepless nights, all the cramming, and all the parties you were not able to attend. It’s all worth it. You are now a certified Physician.
After passing, now, the question is:
What to do next?
Below are the procedures/steps by the PRC on how to go about your oath taking and getting your newest PRC license.
Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be on September 3, 4 and 7, 2015.

- After payment, proceed to the designated Registration counter/window. The Registration Officer will print Registry Sheet with assigned Registration / License Number to be signed and thumb marked by the Registrant.
- Upon completion of the Registry Sheet, issuance officer shall issue claim slip/stub.
- Receive claim slip/stub and claim your Professional Identification Card as scheduled indicated on your claim slip/stub.
“Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.”
I hope that helped!
Finally, don’t forget to buy your dress or tux in the upcoming oath taking ceremonies.
To all family, parents and supporters of our dear examiner, don’t forget your big tarp, saying:
“Congratulations, Dr. ________, for passing the recent Physician licensure exams. We are proud of you.”
I remember getting mine posted outside our home. I was flushed the whole day, and wanted them to put it down right away. Haha. But of course they wouldn’t.
Enjoy the rest of the night, you can now get a good night sleep. Tomorrow, pamper yourself more, get a spa or just be lazy, you deserve it!
Congratulations again,
PS:
To all new doctors, may you continue the dream of helping our community by being the best doctor you can be in your chosen field.
