You are where you are today, in part because of what you’ve been saying about yourself.
Words are like seed. When you speak something out, you give life to what you are saying. If you continue to say it, eventually, that can become a reality.
Whether you like it or not, you are prophesying your future.
This is great if we are saying positive things like:
“ I am great, I’m strong, I can accomplish my dream.” It is not only about being positive, but also prophesying to yourself, Victory and Success.”
Your life will move in the direction of your words.
How many people are prophesying just the opposite?
“I’ll never get back in shape.”
“I will never get healed.”
“I don’t have the talent for that.”
“Business is slow.”
“I will never meet the right person.”
This is also called prophesying defeat. It’s just like they are calling in: bad breaks, mediocrity and scarcity.
“Words are like seeds. They have creative power. Isaiah says, “We will eat the fruit of our words.” What seeds are you planting?” -Anonymous
Make sure you are planting the right kind of seeds.
If you want to eat apples, then plant apple seeds. You can’t plant cactus or poison Ivy and expect them to bear apples. You will reap exactly the same fruit that you have been sowing.
In other words, you can’t talk negative and expect to live a positive life. You can’t talk defeat and expect to have victory.
You can’t talk lack, not enough, can’t afford it. And expect ABUNDANCE.
If you have a poor mouth, you will have a poor life.
If you don’t like what you are seeing, start sowing different seeds.
“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Proverbs 18:21, NIV
Application:
I want to share with you what I do every day as part of my morning routine.
I read aloud my affirmations to myself. These are the things I want in my life to happen and these are the qualities I want myself to have. It is one pager affirmations that focus on 12 different categories of my life: health and fitness, intellectual, emotional, character, spiritual, love, social, parenting, financial, career, quality of life and life vision.
Let me share with you some affirmations you can use and modify to fit your own need:
Say this to yourself every day:
I am strong, I am healthy, I am in shape, I weigh what I am supposed to weigh, I have full of energy.
I am passionate, I am talented, I am secure. I am valuable, I am confident, I have a good personality.
I am happy, I am a person of excellence, I am full of integrity, I am successful.
I am prosperous, my future is bright. My legacy will live on to inspire future generations.
I am blessed, I am victorious, I am a child of the most High God.
You can add or modify these words according to your needs and wants.
What do you think will happen if you sow, water and nurture these seeds every day. What will happen in your life?
James 3:6: The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.
It only means, with our tongue, we can bless our life, or we can curse our life. Many people don’t realize, but with their words, they are cursing their future.
Stop cursing your future.
Pay attention to what you are saying. Are you blessing your life? Or are you cursing it?
