Let me tell you a real story on how a father was able to prove his love for his family.
This is a real story of Erick and it happened 10 years ago. Erick is a life insurance agent, Mang Silo was a friend, a farmer with a wife and 5 kids. Erick approached Mang Silo to convince him on getting a life insurance policy. Mang Silo was not convinced at first until he finally agreed to get a Php300,000 life insurance from Erick. After one week, Mang Silo met a freak accident and died. Erick was shocked when he received the news but still, he delivered the Php300,000 to his wife and 5 kids. He knows it is not enough because the wife has no job and the eldest of the 5 kids was still 10 years old then, but still, there was hope, there was money. The wife thanked Erick profusely and said, he was God sent. Erick never heard from the family from then on. Ten years later, a month ago, Tina called. Tina was the eldest of Mang Silo. She was inviting Erick to attend her college graduation rites. She will be graduating a teacher. Tina and her mother recalled and told Erick what happened after Mang Silo’s death. They used the Php300,000 to help with the burial expenses of Mang Silo, fixed the roof of their house that was in bad shape. With the remainder of the money they bought a sewing machine and some materials in making “basahan” or “rags.” From the profit they got from making “basahan,” Tina was able to finished her high school and got a scholarship in college. Soon, she will be helping his siblings as she already got job offering after graduation even while reviewing for the board exams. Erick was awed. Who would have thought what Php300,000 can do. It became their lifeblood. With that small amount, Mang Silo was still able to provide a roof over their head, put food on the table, send kids to school and help the whole family rise from their situation even if he is no longer around.
Can You Insure Your Love?
According to statistics, LIMRA and Life foundation Insurance Barometer Study: 92% of people think they can insure their car, 88% can insure their house, 77% can insure their valuables but only 8% thinks that they can insure their love.
But do you know that of all those who bought life insurance, 75% of them say that their main reason on buying life insurance is because they love their family. So, yes, your love can be insured through the purchase of LIFE INSURANCE.
If your family is dependent on your income, have to thought of protecting your income? That if in case you are taken by God early, they have at least something to eat?
It is not enough that you say you love your family. It is not enough that you can provide all the things you can give them today that you are still alive. It is only enough if you can really show it even beyond your grave.
How really deep is your love?
If your love goes beyond your grave, then you really love your family more than yourself.
If you can only show your love when you are alive, then, I’m sorry to tell you, you are being selfish.
“Gusto mo masaya lang sila ngayon na buhay ka. Hind mo iniisip na pasayahin pa rin sila kahit mawala ka man.” (You only like them to be happy now that you are alive with you. You don’t care if they don’t have something to eat if you are no longer around.)
Some say, “Doc, Pinky, I don’t believe in life insurance.”
Well, I tell them, “You don’t have to believe in life insurance, it is not a religion.”
It is simply, “If you die today, there is money for your family. Money to help them continue living.” That’s it. Plain and simple.
Now, ask yourself, “Do you really love your Family?”

If you still do not have one, show your love this Valentines. Instead of buying expensive gifts and treats. Buy a life insurance policy instead. It’s your best love letter you can give to your family.
